The Knicks drafted Johnson 21st overall in 2021 and immediately traded his rights to the LA Clippers. Over four NBA seasons with the Clippers, Portland, and Brooklyn, he appeared in 161 games, with a best season in 2024–25 for Brooklyn (10.6 PPG, 56 starts). He appeared in the 2026 Summer League with the Orlando Magic.
