A Nashville native who transferred in from North Florida, Lanier averaged 18.0 points on 43.1% shooting (39.5% from three) in his only Tennessee season, breaking Chris Lofton's single-season three-pointers record with 123 makes while helping the Vols reach a second straight Elite Eight. He won the Jerry West Award as the nation's top shooting guard and was the SEC's inaugural Newcomer of the Year.
