In his lone season at Tennessee (2023–24), Knecht scored 780 points — the second-most in a single season in program history — averaging 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 45.8% shooting. He swept SEC Player of the Year and SEC Newcomer of the Year, earned consensus first-team All-American honors, and became the first Vol to win the Julius Erving Award as the nation's top small forward.
